This painting in thick, knife applied oil is the second in my series of whimsical flower scenes. Bright red flowers stand out against an evergreen colored landscape. I've been doing these more whimsical pieces for a release. One can't constantly paint the same subject matter and not get a bit...bored? I needed a change of pace, just for a bit.
