30x30" oil on gallery wrapped canvas, 10/2003 - from the "Contemplations on Being a Woman" series

13 nymphs gather in celebration of life. Seductive and playful, they demand attention in the garden of guilty pleasures. Appearing to be free they are still confined to their surroundings, blending in to the foliage.

Another example of my earlier works from late 2003. Thought I'd post um well...cause I love them :)

FREE PALESTINE NOW! END THE OCCUPATION!!!
that is beautiful, i only wish i could see it in person to get a better look at the wonderful texture... great coloring though, very nice work...
Great. I can almost smell the humidity in the air. And there's a classical atmosphere as well.
the figures seem to be forming out of moss and algae that grows on the line between water and ground. the texture is smoother then some of your other pieces and i think that adds some of that watery feel. the hues work really well together, the slight yellow/orange is a wonderful light choice it seems reflected off all the other surfaces while not overpowering them. you did a great job! i love it!

i've been wondering what you meant
when you asked do you have a light?
This reminds be of a Yeats painting. You know, the big usage of paint, the distorted figures, everything kinda coming together. I love the colour and the fact that only different tones of green were used for the whole painting. It makes me smile and feel free or something... He.

Is there really a Galway in New York or are you native of the Emerald Isle that is Ireland?
Wow, thank you! That's quite a compliment - I am glad you like the piece!

Yep, there is a Galway in NY - one very, very tiny town upstate. Though, my great-grandmother *is* straight from Ireland :)

Thanks much - this was an earlier piece - I hear ya about the greens, I don't think I have done anything quite like it before or since.... Might be a color scheme to explore once again one of these days. :)

Thanks for the fave, journal feature, and comment!!! X2

Hey Aja, hadn't seen this one before. Just wanted to let you know that the greens are just luscious in this and I hope you do revisit this palette. :nirvana:
